At Elite Elegance Studio in Pitampura, our makeup artists build every party look in layers: prepped skin, a lasting base, eyes and lips that suit your features, and finishing touches that pull it together. Here is how each technique works and what it does for your look.
1. Skin prep: the step that makes makeup last
Makeup sits on skin, so the skin has to be ready. Rushed prep is the main reason foundation looks patchy, cakey or slides off by midnight.
The technique
Cleanse and tone to remove oil and residue.
Hydrate with a moisturiser matched to your skin type, and give it a few minutes to absorb.
Prime the right zones: a pore-blurring or mattifying primer on the T-zone, a hydrating or illuminating primer on dry areas.
Lip and eye prep: lip balm first, and an eyeshadow primer so colour stays vivid and crease-free.
The benefits
A smooth canvas, so the base needs less product and looks more like skin.
Better grip, so makeup lasts hours longer.
Fewer dry patches, flaking or shine breaking through.
Planning ahead: a clean-up or hydrating facial 3 to 5 days before a big party gives your skin time to settle and glow. Avoid trying new facials, peels or waxing the day before.
2. Base techniques: flawless, not heavy
A great party base looks like your best skin, not a mask. We build it in thin layers and only add coverage where it is needed.
Colour correction
How it works: a thin layer of corrector neutralises discolouration before foundation, for example peach or orange tones for dark circles and pigmentation on Indian skin tones, and green for redness.
Benefits: hides dark circles and patches without piling on foundation, so the base stays light and natural.
Foundation matching and layering
How it works: shade is matched on the jawline in natural light, then applied in thin layers with a damp sponge or brush, building coverage only where needed.
Benefits: no grey or ashy cast in flash photos, no visible line at the jaw, and a skin-like finish.
Contouring and sculpting
How it works: a shade one to two tones deeper is placed under the cheekbones, along the jaw and at the temples, then blended until no edge remains.
Benefits: adds definition and structure that photos and stage lighting tend to flatten.
Strobing and highlighting
How it works: luminous products are placed on the high points that catch light: tops of the cheekbones, brow bone, bridge of the nose and cupid's bow.
Benefits: a lit-from-within glow that looks fresh and youthful, especially under evening lights.
Baking and setting
How it works: translucent powder is pressed under the eyes and on the T-zone, left for a few minutes to set, then dusted away.
Benefits: locks concealer in place, prevents creasing, and controls shine through long, warm events.
3. Eye techniques: where the drama lives
Eyes carry most party looks. We choose the technique based on your eye shape, your outfit and how bold you want to go.
Smokey eye
How it works: dark shades are blended from the lash line outward into lighter transition shades, with no hard edges. It can be classic black, brown, plum or emerald.
Benefits: instantly sultry and evening-appropriate; makes eyes look bigger and more intense; flatters almost every eye shape.
Cut crease
How it works: the crease is defined with a sharp, contrasting line, and the lid is "cut" out with concealer and filled with a lighter or shimmer shade.
Benefits: creates depth and lift, makes hooded or small eyes look more open, and photographs beautifully.
Glitter and metallic lids
How it works: pressed glitter or foiled shadow is applied over a tacky base and pressed on with a fingertip or flat brush.
Benefits: maximum festive sparkle that catches the light; perfect with sequins and embellished outfits.
Winged liner
How it works: liner is extended from the outer corner along the angle of the lower lash line, then connected back to the lid.
Benefits: lifts and elongates the eye; works as a clean, classic statement on its own or adds polish to any eye look.
Lashes
How it works: strip or cluster lashes are trimmed to your eye width and set close to the natural lash line.
Benefits: opens the eyes and adds drama. Clusters give a more natural, fluttery result than full strips.
4. Lips and cheeks: the finishing balance
The golden rule of party makeup is balance. A bold eye usually pairs with a softer lip, and a statement lip with a cleaner eye.
Lip lining and soft overlining
How it works: a liner close to your natural lip colour is drawn just on, or very slightly over, the edge of the lips, then blended inward.
Benefits: fuller-looking, well-defined lips and a barrier that stops lipstick from feathering.
Long-wear matte lips
How it works: lips are lined, filled with liner, then layered with a matte liquid or bullet lipstick, blotted and reapplied.
Benefits: rich colour that survives dinner, drinks and hours of photos.
Ombre and gloss-topped lips
How it works: a deeper shade at the edges is blended into a lighter shade at the centre, or a gloss is dabbed on the middle of the lips.
Benefits: adds dimension and a fuller, softer look that photographs well.
Draping and blush placement
How it works: blush is swept from the apples of the cheeks up towards the temples, sometimes blended into the contour for a sculpted effect.
Benefits: lifts the face, adds warmth, and keeps a heavier eye look from making the face look flat.

6. Finishing touches: party hair and nails
A complete party look goes beyond the face. Hair and nails are what people notice in full-length photos and in every handshake and selfie.
Party hairstyles
Soft waves and bouncy blow-dries: effortless glamour that suits western and Indian outfits alike.
Sleek high ponytail or low bun: clean and modern, shows off earrings and a sculpted face.
Braided and floral updos: traditional and secure, ideal for long functions and dancing.
Benefit: a hairstyle planned with your makeup and outfit makes the whole look feel intentional, and is pinned to last all night.
Nails
Gel polish: a glossy, chip-resistant finish that lasts around 2 to 3 weeks, so it stays perfect through the whole festive stretch.
Chrome and metallic nails: a mirror-like shine that echoes metallic eyes and embellished outfits.
Nail art and extensions: from minimal accents to 3D designs, matched to your outfit or theme.
Benefit: polished hands complete the look in close-up photos, especially with rings, mehendi and bangles.
7. Making it last all night
Delhi parties run long and venues get warm. These steps keep your look fresh from the first photo to the last dance.
In the chair
Thin layers instead of heavy coverage, because less product means less to slide or crease.
Waterproof mascara and long-wear liner, especially for emotional occasions.
A setting spray applied in an X and T pattern after every main stage.
Your touch-up kit
Blotting papers, to lift oil without disturbing makeup
Your lipstick and lip liner
A small pressed powder or compact
Cotton buds, to fix smudges under the eyes
A mini setting spray
Bobby pins for any loose strands
At the end of the night: remove everything with a cleansing balm or micellar water, cleanse again, and moisturise. Never sleep in party makeup.
Frequently asked questions
How long does party makeup take? Usually 60 to 90 minutes for makeup, plus time for hair if you book both. Arrive with clean, moisturised skin and no makeup on.
How long will my party makeup last? With proper prep, layering and setting, most looks stay fresh for 8 to 10 hours. A quick touch-up of lips and powder keeps them looking new.
Will my makeup look different in photos? We test the base against flash and choose products without heavy SPF or white cast, so you look like yourself in every frame, not ghostly or grey.
I have sensitive or acne-prone skin. Can I still get party makeup? Yes. Tell your artist in advance. We use clean, sanitised tools and can choose non-comedogenic, fragrance-free products where needed.
Should I bring my own lashes or products? No need. Our artists use authentic, professional products and fresh lashes. If you have a favourite lipstick, bring it along for touch-ups.
