At Elite Elegance Studio in Pitampura, our men's grooming is built around precision and relaxation in equal measure. In this guide, our men's hair and beard team explains the techniques we use, from fades to hot-towel shaves, and the benefits of each.
1. It starts with a consultation
The right cut and beard shape depend on your face, your hair and your lifestyle, not just the latest trend.
The technique
Face shape: we look at whether your face is oval, round, square, long or heart-shaped, and plan length and volume to balance it.
Hair and beard type: thickness, density, growth direction, cowlicks, and any patchy or thinning areas.
Lifestyle: how much time you spend styling, your workplace, and how often you can come in for upkeep.
Scalp check: dandruff, oiliness or early thinning, which we can address alongside the cut.
The benefits
A cut and beard shape that flatter your features.
A style that is easy to manage at home, not just in the chair.
Early advice on hair fall or scalp issues, before they become bigger problems.
2. Men's haircuts: precision techniques
A great men's cut is all about clean lines and smooth transitions. These are the techniques we use most.

Skin, low, mid or high fade
Clippers blend the hair from very short or skin at the bottom to longer on top, guard by guard, with no visible lines

Most face shapes; men who like a crisp, current style
Taper
Hair gradually shortens towards the neckline and sideburns, but stays longer than a fade

Professional and versatile; grows out gracefully
Office-friendly looks, conservative workplaces
Textured crop
Short fringe and top, point-cut for texture, usually paired with a fade
Effortless, trendy
Hides a receding hairline; quick to style
Thick or straight hair; men short on styling time
Scissor-over-comb cut
Shaped entirely with scissors, lifting hair over a comb for soft, natural layers
Soft, refined
Natural movement without harsh clipper lines
Longer styles, wavy hair, a mature look
Classic side part and pompadour
Length kept on top and swept to the side or back, with tidy, tapered sides
Polished, timeless
Elegant for formal events; adds height
Oval, round and square faces; weddings and formal wear
Finishing details that make the difference: a neat neckline, clean edges around the ears, and a hot-towel finish. We also show you how to style it at home with the right product, whether that is a matte clay, a pomade or a light cream.
3. Men's hair and scalp care
Men's hair faces helmets, caps, sweat, Delhi pollution and hard water, often with only a basic shampoo for protection.
Hair spa for men
How it works: deep cleanse, a firm scalp massage, a nourishing mask and steam.
Benefits: softer, more manageable hair, relief from a dry or itchy scalp, and a deeply relaxing 45 minutes.
Scalp detox
How it works: an exfoliating, clarifying treatment that removes oil, sweat, product buildup and hard-water deposits from the scalp.
Benefits: a fresher scalp, less dandruff and itch, and hair that stays clean for longer. Ideal for men who wear helmets daily.
Hair fall therapy and AI hair analysis
How it works: a magnified scalp scan to check density and scalp health, followed by a course of targeted scalp treatments and massage.
Benefits: reduced breakage, a healthier scalp, and a clear picture of what is happening.
An honest note: male pattern hair loss is largely genetic and hormonal. Salon treatments can support scalp health and reduce breakage, but if your hairline is receding or the crown is thinning, see a dermatologist early. The sooner it is treated, the more hair you keep.
4. Beard sculpting: shape that suits your face
A beard can sharpen a soft jaw, balance a round face or add maturity. But an untrimmed beard can just as easily look untidy. Beard sculpting is about designing, not just trimming.
The technique
Design: we choose a style, such as a short boxed beard, stubble, full beard, goatee or anchor, based on your face shape and growth pattern.
Set the length: clippers and scissors bring the bulk to an even length, with slightly more length at the chin for a longer-looking face, or at the sides for a narrow one.
Define the lines: the cheek line is set just above the natural growth, and the neckline about two fingers above the Adam's apple, so the beard looks sharp, not shaved too high.
Detail: the moustache is trimmed off the lip, stray hairs are removed, and edges are cleaned with a trimmer or straight razor.
Condition: a beard oil or balm softens hair and soothes the skin underneath.
The benefits
A defined, more chiselled jawline.
Patchy areas look fuller through clever shaping and length.
A neat look that grows out evenly, so it stays sharp for longer between visits.
Softer beard hair and less itch, thanks to proper conditioning.
Face shape
Beard styles that suit it
Round
Longer at the chin, shorter at the sides: goatee, anchor, extended boxed beard
Square
Rounded or fuller at the chin to soften strong angles: short full beard, circle beard
Long or oblong
Fuller at the sides, shorter at the chin: short boxed beard, heavy stubble
Oval
Most styles work: experiment freely
Heart-shaped
Fuller at the chin to balance a wider forehead: full beard, chin strap
5. Premium hot-towel shave: the classic, done properly
There is a reason the traditional barber's shave has made a comeback. It gives a closer, smoother result than a quick shave at home, with far less irritation.
The technique
Hot towel: a warm, damp towel wraps the face to soften stubble and open the pores.
Pre-shave oil: creates a protective layer so the blade glides rather than drags.
Rich lather: a shaving cream is whipped with a brush and worked into the beard to lift each hair.
The shave: a fresh, single-use blade is used with the grain first, then across the grain where your skin allows, with the skin held taut.
Cool down: a cold towel and a soothing, alcohol-free aftershave balm close the pores and calm the skin.
The benefits
The closest, smoothest finish, which lasts longer than a home shave.
Fewer nicks, razor burn and ingrown hairs.
Softer, refreshed skin with a gentle exfoliating effect.
Fifteen to twenty minutes of genuine relaxation.
Tip for sensitive skin: if you get razor bumps, tell your barber. We will shave only with the grain and may suggest a close trim instead before an important day.
6. Grey blending: natural, not dyed
Many men want fewer greys, but not the flat, shoe-polish look of a full dye job. Grey blending is the answer.
The technique
A soft, demi-permanent or low-ammonia colour, close to your natural shade, is applied to the hair or beard.
It is left on for a short time, so it tones down greys rather than covering every one.
Your colourist can choose to keep a little silver at the temples for a distinguished look.
The benefits
Looks natural, takes years off, and still looks like you.
No harsh regrowth line, because it fades gradually over 4 to 6 weeks.
Quick: usually done in about 20 to 30 minutes, often alongside a haircut.
Works on beards too, for a more even, fuller-looking colour.
Before your first service: we do a patch test 48 hours before, as advised by colour manufacturers, especially for the beard and sensitive skin.
7. Men's facial and grooming spa
Men's skin is typically oilier, with larger pores, and shaving every day adds irritation. A men's facial is designed for exactly that.
Men's facial
How it works: deep cleansing, steam, gentle extraction of blackheads, exfoliation, a massage and an oil-balancing or soothing mask.
Benefits: clearer pores, less oiliness, calmer skin after shaving, and a fresher, more rested look.
Detan and brightening
How it works: a mild exfoliating treatment and brightening mask to lift sun tan from the face and neck.
Benefits: a more even skin tone, especially after Delhi summers spent riding or outdoors.
Head, neck and shoulder massage
How it works: firm, focused massage on the scalp, neck and upper back.
Benefits: relief from desk stiffness, screen strain and tension headaches, in as little as 20 minutes.
Make it a ritual: haircut, beard sculpting, a hot-towel shave or facial, and a head massage, all in one visit. It is the grooming equivalent of a full reset.
8. Groom styling: look your best on the big day
The groom is in nearly every wedding photo, so grooming deserves a plan, not a last-minute trim.

9. Your daily grooming routine
Five minutes a day keeps your cut and beard looking salon-fresh between visits.
Shampoo 2 to 3 times a week, not daily, and condition. Over-washing dries the scalp and can make it oilier.
Wash your beard with a gentle face wash or beard wash, not regular shampoo, which strips natural oils.
Oil your beard daily: 2 to 3 drops of beard oil worked into the skin underneath stop itching, flakes and dryness.
Comb or brush your beard in the direction of growth to train it and keep it neat.
Moisturise and use sunscreen. Even oily skin needs a light, oil-free moisturiser, and SPF prevents tanning and early ageing.
Style with a little product. A pea-sized amount of clay, pomade or cream is enough. Wash it out at night.
How often to visit
Fades and short cuts: every 2 to 3 weeks.
Longer styles and tapers: every 4 to 6 weeks.
Beard sculpting: every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how fast it grows.
Men's facial: every 4 weeks.
Frequently asked questions
Fade or taper: what is the difference? A fade blends down to very short or bare skin and looks sharper. A taper shortens gradually but keeps more length at the bottom, so it looks more classic and grows out more gently.
How do I fix a patchy beard? Often the best fix is shaping, not more growth. Keeping it shorter and well-defined makes patches far less noticeable. Give it 6 to 8 weeks of growth before deciding, and see a dermatologist if patches are sudden or round.
Will grey blending look obvious? No. It softens grey rather than covering it, so it looks like your natural colour, just a few years younger. It also fades out gradually.
Is a hot-towel shave safe for sensitive skin? Yes, when it is done carefully. The hot towel, pre-shave oil and shaving with the grain all reduce irritation. Tell your barber about any razor bumps or sensitivity.
Do men really need facials? If you shave, live in a polluted city or have oily skin, yes. A monthly men's facial keeps pores clear, calms shaving irritation and helps you look less tired.
