Facials Guide

The right facial depends on your skin's main concern today, which is why every EES facial starts with a computer-based skin analysis. Use this guide as a starting point; your therapist confirms the best match

When we will wait or adapt

  • Active rashes, sunburn, open cuts or cold sores

  • Isotretinoin in the last 6 months, or retinoid creams in the last 3 days — we avoid exfoliation and extraction

  • Peels, laser or microneedling in the last 2 weeks

  • RF Facial: not suitable with a pacemaker, metal implants in the face, or during pregnancy

  • LED Therapy: tell us about light-sensitising medicines or light-triggered migraines or seizures

  • Pregnancy: we avoid salicylic acid, retinoids and machine treatments and use a gentle hydrating protocol

Before your appointment

  1. Stop retinoids and scrubs 3 days before.

  2. Avoid facial waxing, threading or bleach for 2–3 days before.

  3. Men: shave the night before, not the same morning.

  4. Arrive without heavy makeup if possible.

What happens in the chair

  1. Skin analysis and consultation

  2. Double cleanse to remove makeup, SPF and pollution

  3. Exfoliation with an enzyme, mild acid or gentle scrub chosen for your skin

  4. Steam and extraction where needed, with sterile single-use tools

  5. Treatment step — serum, mask, machine (RF, oxygen, LED) or massage

  6. Massage for circulation and relaxation

  7. Mask, moisturiser and SPF

Aftercare

First 24–48 hours:

  • No makeup for 6–12 hours

  • No gym, sauna, steam or swimming for 24 hours

  • No scrubs, acids or retinoids for 48 hours

  • No facial waxing or threading for 48 hours

  • Don't pick at small bumps — mild purging after extraction settles in 2–3 days

  • SPF 30+ every morning, reapplied outdoors

Ongoing: a gentle cleanser, a serum for your concern, moisturiser and daily sunscreen. Your therapist suggests specific products after your analysis.

  • Most facials: every 3–4 weeks, in step with your skin's renewal cycle

  • Acne and pigmentation programmes: 4–6 sessions, 2–3 weeks apart

  • RF Facial: 4–6 sessions, 1–2 weeks apart, then monthly

  • Pre-bridal: start 6–8 weeks before; last facial 7 days before; nothing new in the final 10 days
