Hydra Facial Guide

Our Hydra Facial is a 45–60 minute, machine-guided treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates in one session, with no downtime. It is our most popular pre-event glow treatment.

Who it is for

  • Dull, tired or dehydrated skin

  • Congested pores, blackheads and whiteheads

  • Uneven texture and mild pigmentation

  • Oily, combination and normal skin; sensitive skin on a gentler setting

  • Anyone wanting visible radiance 2–5 days before an event

Every Hydra Facial begins with a computer-based skin analysis of hydration, oil, pores, pigmentation and fine lines, so we can tailor serums and track your progress.

When we will wait or adapt

  • Active rashes, sunburn, open cuts or cold sores on the face

  • Isotretinoin tablets in the last 6 months — we skip the acid step and use a gentler protocol

  • Retinoid, tretinoin or adapalene creams in the last 3 days

  • Chemical peel, laser or microneedling in the last 2 weeks

  • Rosacea or eczema flare-up

  • Pregnancy — we leave out salicylic acid; please tell us before you book

Before your appointment

  1. Stop retinoids and strong exfoliants (AHA/BHA, scrubs) 3 days before.

  2. Avoid facial waxing, threading or bleach for 3 days before.

  3. Avoid heavy sun exposure for 48 hours before.

  4. Come with a clean face if you can; we remove any makeup in studio.

What happens in the chair

  1. Skin analysis and consultation (about 10 minutes)

  2. Cleanse and exfoliate — a spiral-tip vortex lifts away dead skin

  3. Gentle acid peel — a mild glycolic/salicylic blend loosens debris, with no peeling afterwards

  4. Painless extraction — vacuum suction clears pores; no squeezing

  5. Serum infusion — hydrating and antioxidant serums pushed into the skin

  6. Optional boosters — LED light therapy, or a targeted serum for pigmentation or ageing

  7. Finish — moisturiser and SPF

Most clients find it cool and relaxing. You may feel light suction and a mild tingle during the peel.

Aftercare

First 24 hours:

  • Skip makeup for at least 6 hours, ideally until the next morning

  • No gym, sauna, steam room or swimming

  • No scrubs, retinoids or acids for 48 hours

  • No facial waxing or threading for 48 hours

  • SPF 30+ before going out, reapplied every 2–3 hours outdoors

Ongoing:

  • Gentle cleanser, hydrating moisturiser and daily SPF

  • Drink plenty of water — the glow lasts longest on hydrated skin

  • Mild pinkness for 1–2 hours is normal

Results and frequency

You will see brighter, plumper, smoother skin the same day. The glow lasts about 5–7 days; clearer pores and better texture build over a series.

  • Maintenance glow: once every 4 weeks

  • Congestion or texture concerns: 3–6 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart

  • Wedding or event: start a course 6–8 weeks out; last session 2–5 days before
