Makeup Guide

Long-lasting, camera-ready makeup starts weeks before the day, with skin prep and a clear brief. This guide covers party, HD, airbrush and bridal makeup by our certified artists, led by our chief makeup artist and co-founder, Madhu.

Choose your look

  • Party Makeup — polished and comfortable, lasts the evening

    • Best for: parties, functions and festive events

    • Time: 60–90 min

  • HD Makeup — light-reflecting and natural-looking under bright lights and close-up cameras

    • Best for: engagements, receptions, photo and video shoots

    • Time: 90–120 min

  • Airbrush Makeup — sprayed on, very thin and even; resists sweat and transfer

    • Best for: long days, outdoor and summer events, oily skin

    • Time: 90–120 min

  • Bridal Makeup — HD or airbrush, with hair, draping and accessory setting

    • Best for: the wedding day and key functions

    • Time: 3–4 hours

  • Groom Styling — skin prep, a light base, hair and grooming

    • Best for: grooms and family

    • Time: 45–60 min

Bridal timeline

  • 6–8 weeks before: book your date and start a skin plan (see our Facials Guide)

  • 3–6 weeks before: makeup and hair trial; bring outfit and jewellery photos

  • 7 days before: last facial; no new skincare from now on

  • 2–3 days before: waxing, threading, manicure and pedicure

  • Night before: gentle cleanse, moisturiser, early sleep and plenty of water

  • On the day: arrive on time; early-morning slots can be arranged in advance

Tell us before you book

  • Allergies to cosmetics, fragrance, latex or eyelash glue

  • Contact lenses — we work around them; bring your case and solution

  • Sensitive or acne-prone skin, or any active skin condition

  • Any treatment in the last 2 weeks: peels, laser or injectables

Before your appointment

  1. Arrive with clean, moisturised skin and no makeup.

  2. Wash your hair the night before, unless your stylist has asked otherwise — day-old hair often holds updos better.

  3. Wear a front-opening top or shirt so you can change without disturbing your makeup.

  4. Bring your outfit, dupatta, jewellery and any personal products, such as your own lashes or a favourite lipstick.

  5. Eat a light meal beforehand and bring water with a straw.

  6. Brides: share outfit colours and venue lighting (day or night, indoor or outdoor) at your trial.

What happens in the chair

  1. Consultation — your outfit, event, lighting and the look you want

  2. Skin prep — cleanse, hydrate and prime for your skin type

  3. Base — foundation matched in natural light, concealing and colour correction

  4. Eyes and brows — shaping, eyeshadow, liner and lashes

  5. Contour, blush and highlight for definition on camera

  6. Lips with long-wear setting

  7. Setting spray, then hair styling and draping (bridal)

Making it last

  • Blot with blotting paper; never rub or wipe your face

  • Carry a small touch-up kit: your lipstick, a compact, blotting papers and cotton buds

  • Use a straw for drinks to keep lip colour intact

  • Keep away from direct heat where you can

Removing it properly

  1. Never sleep in your makeup.

  2. Remove lashes gently from the outer corner after softening the glue with a little oil or remover.

  3. Double cleanse: an oil or cleansing balm first, then a gentle face wash.

  4. Take out pins and hair accessories slowly; detangle from the ends up.

  5. Finish with a light moisturiser.
