Manicure Guide

A good manicure is as much about healthy nails and cuticles as the colour on top. Choose your finish below; every option starts with the same nail and hand care.

Choose your manicure

  • Classic Manicure — shaping, cuticle care, hand massage and regular polish

    • Time: 40–45 min · Lasts: 5–7 days

  • Spa Manicure — classic plus soak, scrub, mask and a longer massage

    • Time: 60 min · Lasts: 5–7 days

  • Gel Polish — classic care with UV/LED-cured gel colour

    • Time: 60 min · Lasts: 2–3 weeks

  • Extensions (gel or acrylic) — added length and shape on your natural nail

    • Time: 90–120 min · Infill every 2–3 weeks

  • Nail Art, Chrome and 3D — designs added to gel or extensions

    • Adds 20–60 min

  • Nail Repair and Spa — strengthening care for weak, peeling or bitten nails

    • Time: 45–60 min · Best as a course

When we will wait or adapt

  • Fungal infection (discoloured, thickened or crumbling nails) — we won't polish over it and will suggest seeing a doctor

  • Cuts, inflamed cuticles or infection around the nail

  • Allergy to gel or acrylates — tell us if you've ever had itching or swelling around the nails after gel

  • Diabetes or poor circulation — we use gentle, non-cutting cuticle care

Before your appointment

  1. Remove regular polish at home, or let us do it. Never peel off gel; we remove it safely in studio.

  2. Bring a reference photo for nail art or shape.

  3. Allow the full time slot, especially for extensions or detailed art.

What happens in the chair

  1. Consultation and hand sanitising

  2. Removal of old polish or gel

  3. Shaping with a fresh single-use file

  4. Soak and cuticle care — cuticles softened and gently pushed back; only loose skin trimmed

  5. Exfoliation and massage (spa and premium services)

  6. Base, colour and top coat, or gel cured under the lamp

  7. Cuticle oil to finish

Aftercare

  • Regular polish: avoid hot water and hand tasks for 1–2 hours; fully hard in about 12 hours

  • Gel: dry instantly, but avoid very hot water and saunas for 24 hours

  • Wear gloves for washing up and cleaning

  • Apply cuticle oil daily — it keeps gel from lifting and nails from cracking

  • Don't use nails as tools to open cans or peel labels

  • Never pick or peel gel or extensions; it strips layers of your natural nail

How often

  • Classic or spa manicure: every 1–2 weeks

  • Gel: refresh every 2–3 weeks, with professional removal

  • Extensions: infill every 2–3 weeks

  • After 3–4 back-to-back gel sets: book a Nail Repair and Spa session

  • Big event: book 1–2 days before (gel can go 2–3 days before)

Call us if

  • A gel or extension lifts or cracks within 7 days

  • Skin around the nail becomes red, swollen, itchy or painful

  • You see green or dark spots under an extension (a sign of trapped moisture)
